This page explains how articles on Facial Adviser are planned, written, checked and updated. It applies to every article on the site.
Our standards
- Accuracy first. Health and safety statements are checked against primary sources: dermatology associations such as the American Academy of Dermatology, regulators such as the U.S. FDA, peer-reviewed research available through the National Institutes of Health, and manufacturers’ own documentation. We link to the source so you can read it yourself.
- No invented testing. Unless an article clearly says otherwise, our product guides are research-based: we compare listed features, specifications, safety guidance and the pattern of shopper feedback. We do not describe lab tests or hands-on trials that did not happen.
- No prices, ratings or counts copied from retailers. They change daily. We describe what a product does and who it suits, and we send you to the retailer for the current price.
- Clear limits. Every treatment or device guide includes what it cannot do, who should avoid it, and when to see a professional.
- Plain language. We explain the mechanism (why a treatment works, what an ingredient does) rather than repeating marketing claims.
How articles are produced
Articles are planned and edited by Rakib Sarwar, the site’s founder, a registered pharmacist with additional training in cosmetology. Research, outlining and first drafts are produced with the help of AI writing tools. Every draft is then reviewed by Rakib before publication: the facts are checked against the cited sources, claims that cannot be verified are removed, product details are compared with the current listing, and the text is edited for accuracy and clarity. AI tools do not publish anything on this site on their own.
Affiliate links and independence
Facial Adviser earns commissions from some retailer links, mainly through the Amazon Associates programme. Products are chosen using the process described on our How We Choose Products page. Retailers and brands do not see articles before publication and cannot pay for inclusion. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored links to search engines and disclosed on the page.
Updates and corrections
Articles show the date they were last updated. We revisit product guides when products are discontinued or replaced and when safety guidance changes, and we review older articles on a rolling basis. If you find an error, please use the contact page; we aim to correct factual mistakes within a few days of confirming them.
What we are not
Facial Adviser is an information and shopping-guide website, not a medical service. Our content does not replace advice from a dermatologist, doctor or licensed esthetician who can examine your skin. See our medical disclaimer.
